California Medicare Basics

Course Description:
Federal laws require that Chiropractors bill Medicare for most manual manipulations to the spine. NORIDIAN is California’s current Medicare Administrative Contractor and we will cover their specific requirements.

Education Objectives:
This course is designed to provide an introduction to Medicare and what Part B and Part C coverage is and the current requirements for documentation and billing here in California. The primary goal is for you to pass an audit whether it is an internal office audit or outside audit.

Approximately 80% of the information covered applies to all 50 states.


Essential Coding for the Chiropractic Practice

Course Description:

  • 2023 Evaluation and Management codes up-dates
  • Synchronous telemedicine services rendered via a real-time interactive audio and video telecommunications systems
  • Telephone services
  • Online digital Evaluation and Management Services.
  • Proper coding for “cash practices” and practices that “accept” payment directly from health insurance carriers
  • Correct Coding for all types of patients (cash, personal injury, Medicare*, health insurance and Workers’ Compensation)
  • 2023 procedural (CPT), supply, supports and service codes (HCPCS) codes
  • Diagnosis (ICD-10) effective 10/1/2023 through 09/31/2024
